Dreame D20 Ultra Review Malaysia: Dock Space, Upkeep and Costs

The Dreame D20 Ultra is worth shortlisting when your main aim is to reduce repeated vacuuming, dust-bin emptying and mop washing on one floor. The buying decision is less about its 13,000 Pa headline and more about whether your home has room for the dock and whether you will maintain its tanks and consumables.

Quick Select: is the D20 Ultra a fit?

  • Choose it for: routine hard-floor cleaning in a reasonably clear home, with a permanent dock position and someone willing to empty the used-water tank.
  • Think twice if: you expect unattended cleaning around loose cables, spills or pet accidents, have difficult rugs, or cannot provide a clear return path.
  • Price reference: Dreame Malaysia displayed RM1,599, with RM1,279.20 advertised after a conditional 20% voucher, checked 5 October 2026. Confirm the final offer and dispatch date with the seller.
  • Ownership catch: dust bags, mop pads, filters and brushes need a separate budget. We could not verify a complete current D20 Ultra-specific consumable price list, so there is no trustworthy annual RM total here.

Go to the buying checklist and current offer, or read the space and running-cost checks first.

What the dock does, and what it leaves to you

The official D20 Ultra manual documents automatic dust-box emptying, mop washing and drying. It also lets you choose vacuum-only, mop-only or mopping after vacuuming in the app. These functions can remove repetitive steps from a daily routine; they do not make the appliance maintenance-free.

You still refill clean water, clean the used-water tank after each use, inspect the brush and clean the washboard, sensors and contacts. That used-water task matters more than a large dust-bag headline if you dislike handling dirty water. Set the dock where those jobs are easy to do.

Advantages

  • One station handles the dust transfer and mop-care steps after a cleaning run.
  • Separate cleaning modes let you vacuum first or avoid mopping when it is unnecessary.
  • The official manual gives specific upkeep intervals, so consumables can be planned rather than treated as a surprise.

Disadvantages and limits

  • A substantial permanent dock and its approach space are required.
  • Water-tank cleaning and replacement consumables remain your responsibility.
  • Sensor and suction marketing does not establish how well it will handle your clutter, rugs or stubborn dirt. We have no independent performance measurements for this model.

Measure the installation space before comparing offers

Dreame Malaysia’s diagram gives the station as 34 × 45.7 × 59 cm and the robot as 35 × 35 × 10.4 cm. The manual calls for at least 1.5 m clear in front and 5 cm at either side, with a good Wi-Fi signal. Leave practical access above for removing the tanks; no verified minimum overhead clearance was found. Measure low furniture against the robot’s full height, not just the round body.

The manual recommends a tile or marble position to reduce the risk of water stains on wood or carpet. App connection requires 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. These are useful pre-purchase checks for a condo as well as a larger house. A dock that physically fits in a cabinet may still have a poor return path or awkward tank access.

Read the performance numbers with their limits

The Malaysian product graphics advertise 13,000 Pa suction, a 5,200 mAh battery and mop lifting up to 10.5 mm. Suction pressure alone is not a measured debris-pickup result. Mop lift is also not proof that every thick rug will stay dry. Our cautious buying advice is to check your rug pile and observe the first cleaning runs before trusting mixed-floor settings.

The manual still tells owners to remove loose items and cables and to keep liquid or sticky substances off the cleaning area. Treat obstacle avoidance as assistance. For a home with unpredictable pet mess, clearing and checking the floor remains necessary.

Consumables: the recurring budget to request

The manual’s maintenance table, English page 16, gives these usage-dependent replacement guidelines:

  • Dust bag: every 2–4 months
  • Mop pads: every 1–3 months
  • Dust-box filter and side brush: every 3–6 months
  • Main brush: every 6–12 months

These are manufacturer planning intervals, not a guarantee that your parts will last that long or a measured yearly shopping list. Included spares, wear, cleaning frequency and pack quantities change what you actually buy. The same table calls for cleaning the main brush and filter every two weeks, and the washboard and sensors monthly.

The official D/L-series accessory selector includes D20 Ultra. However, its default RM79 view was for a D20 side-brush selection, not a verified D20 Ultra basket. We therefore do not apply RM79 to every item or borrow another model’s accessory-pack cost.

Before paying, ask the seller for D20 Ultra-compatible SKU, pack quantity, price and stock for bags, two mop pads, filter, side brush and main brush. Divide pack price by the number of usable replacements before comparing sellers. Add delivery and any approved solution you choose to use. The manual allows clean water and officially approved solution only; follow the bottle’s dilution guidance. Optional upgraded brushes, extended warranty and paid cleaning services are separate choices, not mandatory running costs.

Electricity and warranty: two easily missed details

The manual lists different station ratings: 700 W during dust emptying, 40 W during cleaning, and 87 W during charging/drying. These are mode-specific ratings, not continuous consumption. An annual electricity cost needs actual time and energy use in each mode plus your tariff; multiplying 700 W by every hour of ownership would be misleading.

Dreame Malaysia advertises a two-year local warranty for the robot, dock and battery, with consumables generally excluded. Its full after-sales policy is for authorized Malaysian channels and says claims must be raised within one year of the issue arising. The product page also contains ambiguous one-year exclusion wording. Get the exact seller’s two-year coverage confirmed in writing, keep the invoice and report faults promptly. Marketplace return handling follows that platform and seller; do not assume an unrestricted change-of-mind trial.

Buying verdict and offer checklist

Consider the D20 Ultra if the dock replaces chores you regularly do and the upkeep still fits your routine. Hold off if the space checks fail, you need proven results on difficult rugs, or the seller cannot give a clear accessory and local-warranty answer. At checkout, check the exact D20 Ultra package, Malaysia support, stock or preorder status, voucher conditions and delivery charges. The advertised voucher price is not a guaranteed checkout total.
